Can I change my monthly amount?

Yes, you can! Do you use more or less energy than you had estimated beforehand? Then you can adjust your monthly amount at any time. This will prevent you from receiving an unexpectedly high final bill at the end of the year, or from paying an unnecessarily high advance every month. You will receive an overview of your actual consumption every month so that you can assess whether the estimate made is accurate. How do I adjust my monthly amount?

Please note: we do not recommend adjusting your monthly amount: our calculations are based on your actual consumption, seasonality and current market data - and are therefore often much more accurate than a manual estimate, which prevents you from being faced with disappointing surprises.

You can easily recalculate and adjust your monthly amount via My Blue Current Energy or our app:

1. Go to 'Settings'.

2. Choose "Change details" and then "Monthly amount".

3. We calculate your new monthly amount based on:

- Your (adjusted) consumption.

- The advance already paid.

- The number of months remaining until your annual accounts.

Changes that you submit 7 days before the end of the following month will be immediately reflected in the following monthly invoice.
