1. Dynamic energy
  2. Switching to Blue Current Energy - Exceptional situations

Can I switch if my (permanent) contract is still running?

Yes, you can always switch to Blue Current Energy, but there are a few things to keep in mind.

Do you have a permanent contract?
With a fixed contract, your current energy supplier may charge a cancellation penalty if you switch earlier. This fine has been legally determined by the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) and, since 2022, has been a maximum of €125 per remaining year of your contract. In many cases, it is cheaper to switch anyway, because dynamic energy prices often save you money in the long run.

Do you have a notice period?
Most energy contracts have a notice period of 30 days. When you switch to Blue Current Energy, we automatically arrange the cancellation of your old contract. So you don't have to worry about anything.
