With a dynamic contract, your energy price is determined daily and hourly based on the current market price. This means that you will be billed monthly based on your actual consumption and energy prices at that time. In this FAQ, we explain the difference between the fixed and dynamic monthly advance. Billing works as follows:
1. Advance invoice: fixed or dynamic monthly advance
At the beginning of the month, you will receive an advance amount, based on an estimate of your expected consumption. This is calculated accurately in an intelligent automated way based on many factors such as historical data, weather, forecast models, etc.
In this FAQ, we explain the difference between the fixed and dynamic monthly advance.
2. Monthly statement
At the end of the month, we measure exactly how much energy you have used and at what hourly or daily rates.
- Consumption lower than advance? You will receive a refund.
- Consumption higher than advance? You pay the difference.
Please note: there is a difference between the settlement of the fixed and dynamic monthly advance, we explain that in the same as FAQ referenced earlier.
3. Automatic accuracy with smart meter
Do you have a smart meter? Then your usage is registered per hour, so that you always pay for what you have actually used.
You can adjust the monthly advance yourself, so that you always have control over your monthly costs. However, we strongly advise against this because the calculations from the automated systems almost always turn out to be more accurate. This way you avoid unpleasant surprises.
