      How quickly can I charge my car?

      What is the maximum capacity?

      Blue Current's charging points allow you to charge at up to 22 kW (or 32 amps over three phases).


      The actual charging speed depends on three factors:
      • The capacity of the charging station (at Blue Current: maximum 22 kW)
      • The capacity of your electrical installation (must be suitable for 3-phase/power)
      • The maximum charging speed of your car (most EVs charge at 11 kW - that's 16A over 3 phases)

      If you want optimal charging, it is important that both your car and the installation support it. In many situations, smart charging is also needed to prevent overloading your grid. We also call this load balancing. [Read more about load balancing here].
