Should I adapt the tariff of my charge point to the price ceiling?

As of January 1st 2023, there's a price ceiling on Dutch energy tariffs. How do I adjust the tariff on my charge point to match?

From January 1st 2023, there's a price cap on energy for all households and other small consumers. For electricity, the maximum tariff will be adjusted to € 0.40 per kWh, with a maximum usage of 2,900 kWh. Above that, the tariff will noit be adjusted.

Do you drive an EV and charge at home? If so, your annual usage will likely be over 2,900 kWh.

Generally, a private user with a Blue Current charger and a full EV (non hybrid) car will use about 2,500 kWh per annum to charge the car. The household usage is added to this.

When you use a charging token to settle your charging costs, we advise you not to lower the charge point tariff based on the price ceiling. The tariff on your charge point should be the tariff for usage over 2,900 kWh.
