What costs do I pay in addition to my consumption?

What are the fixed delivery costs?
At Blue Current Energy we charge a fixed fee per month, you can find this amount here. This amount is independent of your usage and covers, among other things, the costs for our app, customer service and administration.

What are the network management costs?
The network management costs are fixed costs that are passed on by the network operator. They take care of the transport of energy to your home. These costs depend on the amount of your connection and your consumption, and are determined by the network operator. You always pay these costs through your energy supplier (in this case Blue Current Energy).

Are the transport costs for gas not included in the network management costs?
No, the transport costs for gas are separate from the network management costs. These costs are passed on by the national Gasunie, which is responsible for transporting gas throughout the Netherlands.

Purchase fee:
For the purchase of energy and for the imbalance risk that we run, we pay a purchase fee per kWh or m3. We do not earn money from your consumption, after all, we would like you to use less energy.

Energy tax:
You pay this tax on energy based on your stated annual consumption. Every month we invoice 1/12th of your expected annual energy tax.

Trading Price (Trading Price):
This is the price we pay per kWh or m3 on the EPEX day ahead trading market. This price is determined by supply and demand. Is the wind blowing hard and is there a bright sun? Then the offer will be larger, causing the price to fall.

VAT:
In addition to energy tax, the tax authorities would also like us to charge 21% VAT.
