What is Public Charging?

What is Public Charging and how does it work?

Public Charging 'on'

When you have 'Public Charging' turned on, all valid charging cards offered can start a charging session at this charging station.

Public Charging 'off'

When 'Public Charging' is off, only charge cards that you have linked to the charge point can start a charging session.

What does this mean for me?

If you use 'Paid Charging'
Do you normally get your charging costs reimbursed via your employer? Then it is good to know that someone else with a valid charging card can start a charging session at your charge point. In that case, you will not be charged, but the owner of that other charging card will be.

Do you want to give someone access but not charge them?
Then read the article on 'exclude from payment'.

If you use 'Private Charging'
Do you use your charge point only for private use and don't get reimbursed for power costs? Then someone else with a valid charge card can still charge at your point. The costs will not be settled in that case either.
