1. Dynamic energy
  2. Dynamic energy compared to fixed and variable energy

What is the risk if I take out a dynamic energy contract?

The main risks to be aware of:

1. Price risk
The prices for electricity and gas change daily (for gas) and even hourly (for electricity). This means that your energy costs can fluctuate considerably. In periods of high demand (for example in winter), prices can suddenly rise sharply. When calculating your monthly amount, we already take into account the expected purchase prices. Because we offer you insight into the app, you can also make an estimate of the costs you will receive, your monthly amount is easy to change so that you are not faced with surprises.

2. Dependence on your own attention and flexibility
The benefits of a dynamic contract largely depend on your ability to adjust your consumption. If you are not able to run the washing machine or electric car at cheap times, for example, you will benefit less from the possible savings. Nevertheless, an average household saves 23% in costs without actively dealing with the price changes.

3. Less long-term certainty
There are no guarantees of stable tariffs in the event of sudden market fluctuations, for example, when there is an energy crisis, prices can rise sharply. A fixed rate gives you more certainty. However, in the past, the energy crisis in 2022 has proven to recover quickly. A dynamic energy contract offers you more flexibility.
