What needs to happen during installation?

What should be done when the charge point arrives?

A charge point must be connected to the fuse box. A separate safety residual current breaker and a separate circuit breaker must be installed in the fuse box to ensure the safety of the installation. This is mandated by law. The cable running from the charge point must be sufficiently thick to be able to supply a significant amount of power over time without heating up.

In addition to a power cable, a charge point must be connected to the internet. This can be done via LAN cable, wifi or sim card. We recommend a connection via LAN cable because this connection is most reliable. Optionally, it is possible to make use of Dynamic Load Balancing (i.e. smart charging). The smart meter provides the values for the relevant calculations, or a separate meter is installed.

If desired, the installation of the charge point can be provided by one of our installation partners. They will take a look at the fuse box and evaluate whether it could benefit from upgrading the capacity, and check whether the smart meter is compatible with smart charging.
