When is the best time to switch to Blue Current Energy?
The best time to switch depends on the contract you have with your current energy supplier.
Permanent contract: Do you have a contract with a fixed term? Then it is often smart to wait until the end date. Many energy suppliers charge a cancellation penalty if you switch prematurely. The amount of this fine is determined by law. In some cases, switching is still advantageous, because the savings at Blue Current Energy outweigh the costs of the fine.
Indefinite contract: In this case, you can switch at any time, usually with 30 days' notice.
Timing after summer or winter: Are you switching just after winter? Then your old supplier can send a high final bill because they have advanced the winter costs. Switching after the summer can actually be beneficial, because you often get money back.
