Blue Current Home Assistant Integration

Connecting your Blue Current charge point to Home Automation

Blue Current is working on an integration for Home Assistant. With the integration, you can control all charge point-related functionality that is available via our Customer Dashboard https://my.bluecurrent.nl/ from your Home Assistant installation.

Our integration is currently awaiting a review by Home Assistant.

Home Assistant offers a set of add-ons and integrations as standard. These are reviewed by the developers of Home Assistant and made available to users with new releases of Home Assistant Core. This process can take a while (months).

Would you like to try our integration?
This is possible via HACS, the Home Assistant Community Store. This is an integration that acts as an App Store, but also allows you to clone a GitHub repository. A little familiarity with development tools (such as the terminal and GitHub) is a requirement - our Customer Service cannot properly support you with the install process via HACS.

The integration adds the following entities:

Charge point sensors

  • Activity (charge point status: Available / Ready / Charging / Error)
  • Average current
  • Average voltage
  • Energy usage in kWh
  • Max usage in Amps (the maximum amount of Ampère a charge point is allowed to use)
  • Offline since
  • Started on
  • Stopped on
  • Total cost in EUR
  • Total kW (estimate)
  • Vehicle status (StateA: vehicle is connected, StateB: ready to charge, StateC: charging)

Switched off as standard:

  • Current phase 1-3
  • Offline max usage
  • remaining current
  • Smart Charging max usage
  • Voltage phase 1-3

Grid sensors

  • Grid average current
  • Grid max current

Switched off as standard:

  • Grid current phase 1-3

Switch

  • Block (blocks the charge point, charge point displays red)
  • Plug and charge (auto-starts the charge when connecting the car)
  • Linked charge cards only (Do you admit valid charging tokens, or only those registered? If you've set a tariff you can temporarily switch this off to allow a visitor or a neighbour to charge at the set tariff).

Button

  • Start Session
  • Stop Session
  • Reset (restarts charge point software, typically 5 s- max around 2 min)
