Do you drive a leased car, or do you operate a charge point intended for visitors? Set a tariff, so that we can credit the charging token
Has your charge point been installed recently?
Consider setting a higher monthly rate with your energy supplier, to avoid being caught out by a high year-end bill.
A household with a fully electric vehicle (and a Blue Current home charge point) uses more power than a household with a combustion engined car.
The average EV driver uses 2,500 kWh annually for charging the car.
You can set your own charging tariff if:
- The charge point was installed through your lease company.
- You've opted for a Base-level subscription as a private user.
- You've opted for an Extended or Full Service-level subscription as a corporate user.
Please note:
Are you unable to set the tariff? Please contact us for advice.
Setting a tariff as a private user
Our back office allows you to change your tariff. If you go to the heading Charge point, you can use the Info tab to set the tariff.
To confirm the tariff change, you're required to enter your password.
We advise you to base the tariff on your energy rates. Usually, you can apply the following:
- Do you have a variable rate, generally a low and a normal rate? Use your normal rate (including energy tax and ODE) as the tariff for your charge point.
- Round this up to the next eurocent.
- In some cases your employer or lease company sets a maximum tariff for you.
You should set a tariff excluding VAT (BTW). For an energy rate of 24 ct/kWh, this means:
- Blue Current reimburses you 24 ct/kWh for charge sessions done using a charging token.
- Blue Current charges 24 ct/kWh + 21% (previously 9%) VAT to the charging token.
- Blue Current pays the VAT to the tax authorities.
Setting a tariff as a corporate user
Do you submit a VAT return quarterly and have you given us your VAT number? In that case, Blue Current does not pay VAT on your charging sessions but instead we pay the VAT to you automatically.
In that case, you will find a VAT remittance entry on your credit invoice.
