My charger charges slowly - what can I do?

If your load balancing (fast loading) is not working, you can follow the following steps.

Smart charging is not working properly, now what?

Is your car still only charging at low power (6A or 3.7 kW, or less) while using smart charging through the smart meter? Then the connection is probably temporarily down. Here's what you can do.

Situation 1: You have a smart reader (most common)

1. Disconnect the smart reader from power.
2. Plug in the internet cable again.
3. Check that the cable to the smart reader's P1 port is secure.
4. Check the lights on the smart reader: 2 green should be on constantly, 1 red should be blinking.

Situation 2: You have a direct connection to the smart meter
In this case, a cable goes directly from the charge point to the P1 port of the smart meter. Read where to find the P1 port here.

  1. Remove the cable from the P1 port of the smart meter and plug the cable back in.
  2. Power down the charge point for 1 minute by turning the ground fault circuit interrupter to down.
  3. Turn the switch back up and wait 1-2 minutes.
  4. Check if the car is charging at maximum power again by starting a session.
