My charge point is showing red LEDs. What does this mean?

The charge point is in error

The charge point generates an error. The most common causes are listed below.

Is the lower part of the U red? This means that the charging cable may be damaged, or has been unable to lock itself. Try reinserting the cable. If the error persists, try a different charging cable.

Is the upper part of the U red? This has to do with identification and authorisation.

  1. Signing in while starting a charging session: the charge card is invalid and/or is not listed amongst the charge point's permitted charge cards, or

  2. Signing out while terminating a charging session: the charge card is incorrect (not the same charge card that the charging session was started with), or

  3. Spontaneously: the charge point has no connection to the internet.

What to do

1. Start a charging session with a valid and permitted charge card. You can ask the provider of the charge card about the validity of the charge card. You can adjust charge card permissions for the charge point by accessing the back office for that charge point.

2. Terminate the charging session with the correct charge card. You can also turn off the power to the charge point to unlock the charge point.

3. Ensure that the charge point is connected to the internet and soft reset the charge point via the app or the back office.
